My name is Michael Cook. I am multidisciplinary/multimedia designer whose work doesn’t stick to the rules. As a young designer who is into zines, music, and counter culture aesthetics, I often find myself influenced by the creativity of Hollywood California art scene. As a graduate of at The Roski School of Art & Design, my artwork ranges from fine art studio practice to design. Using my background in painting, I use type in design the way a painter uses paint, to create an emotional and humanistic experience, ultimately striving to make connections and build understanding through the power of design. I find that my work takes a more experimental, liberal and open minded approach to design. This is most likely linked to my influence of the punk rock music scene.
